Smasher – Machine for road verges

The COSMECO Smasher is a machine conceived for the maintenance of road verges, paths and river banks, through a process of mowing and shredding of the herbaceous and shrub vegetation. In addition, it can also be used in vineyards, orchards and plant nurseries to mill or move the earth near the plants, however without damaging them.

The strong Smasher frame extends laterally to the tractor in a horizontal way, at the right side respect to the forward movement, and supports in its end the milling part, that is a solid cylinder to which are welded special stone peaks.

Thanks to the rotary movement of the cutting head, the live or dry vegetation together with stones and rocks is easily shredded and crumbled, to be then expelled from the rear part of the protection guard.

A hydraulic cylinder allows the milling part to slide during the work, with the aim of avoiding signage poles or other obstacles by enabling the cutting head to reenter up to 30 cm and once bypassed the obstacle, to go back to its original working position with no disturbance or manual intervention for the operator.

A second hydraulic cylinder, equipped with a check-valve, enables the cutting head tilting to be adjusted during the work and also to be placed vertically in shape with the tractor, for the transit by road (after it has been disconnected from the cardan shaft).

Main Strengths:

• The milling part in operation with no forward motion, creates a small gutter for rain water on the verge.
• The special stone peaks placed on the cutting head, make the use of this equipment possible in the most difficult situations, on hard and stony soils.

• Minimisation of shrub masses even considerably high.
• Costs saving due to cut, transport and disposal.
